Hello Again, Colorado.

Oh, hi, peoples.

So my sister and I have now spent a full week in the beautiful state of Colorado!

Denver, CO from the sky.
I am a little behind on the blog posting, but no worries. I am on top of it once again, and I will make the lack of my productivity up to you.  Every other day, I will be updating my blog throughout the trip, and every other week, I will have a new video capturing our adventures on my Youtube channel!

Colorado is stunning. When I was younger, my family would travel here often, but I haven't been here since 2008. I forgot just how wonderful it is.

Our flight left Atlanta Saturday, June 13th at 7:15 AM.

We stayed at our cousin's Friday night so we wouldn't have to wake up at 1 AM to make it to our flight the next morning. I hadn't been to our cousin's in a bit, so it was great to have a short visit with her and her cute little animals.

My cousin's babies. Instagram: @talesoftiffanylove
Mom and our cousin dropped Hannah and I at the airport at 5:45. We didn't check any luggage (packing for three and a half weeks in a carry-on guide is on the way), and we were able to make it through security by 6:25.

Y'all, it was insane. Security has never been so easy. They have simplified the usually-dreaded process. You no longer have to remove your shoes, electronics, or liquids in your little 1 quart baggy. You just throw your luggage on the conveyer belt and walk through the passage way that no longer beeps at you because you forgot to take off your earrings. Getting in and out of security was a breeze. Well done, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Well done.

When we got to our gate, I noticed the screen behind the desk said "Flight #not-our-flight to Philadelphia." Immediately, I brought it to Hannah's attention. As she contacted Mom to see if she had been informed of changes to our flight, I ran up to the receptionist. Thankfully, the gates had just been switched around, and our flight would be boarding in the same area a few gates down. Once we were settled, we grabbed a bag of pretzels, fruit, water, and gum, and prepared to board.

The flight was great. We sat next to a guy who was our age and had been visiting his friends at University of North Georgia (woot woot!) and basically just slept/listened to his music all three hours.
Flying Frontier Airlines was a wonderful experience.
This was my first time flying in seven years, and it could not have been a better experience. When I was younger, flying freaked me out. This time around, I was older, knew what to expect, and understood how to better prepare and handle my anxiety in a situation like this. (If you want to see my flying tips for anxious humans like myself, just let me know!) I also got some fantastic shots above the clouds.

Hannah napping on the shuttle.
Once we arrived in Denver, we took a shuttle to meet our Aunt in Cheyenne, and she took us to Steamboat Springs! In two weeks, it has been a year since Dad moved to Colorado. Seeing him was so fantastic! Hannah and I surprised him before he got off work when we arrived. It was great, and I caught it all on video. After exploring a bit, we were exhausted and made a necessary Starbucks stop.

After traveling all day, I was thankful for Starbucks' Existence.
To celebrate the reunion, we had dinner at this great place called Rex's (restaurant review coming soon) and enjoyed the beautiful Alpine Glow on the ski mountain. The day could not have ended more perfectly.

I am so happy I get to spend this time with my Dad and sister. I have missed him terribly, and I am super excited for the upcoming weeks. Make sure to check back here every other day so you don't miss a thing!

My Grown-Up 21st Disney Birthday Party!

I turned twenty-one April 13th. I am not sure who decided I was ready to turn twenty one, but it happened. On my actual birthday, Tim took me to the Georgia Aquarium (blog post and video coming soon!), but to celebrate with my friends the week before, I had a Dress-up, Disney-themed, twenty-first birthday party.

I wasn't sure how it would turn out or if anyone would even show up, but it was AMAZING! The set-up was exactly how I'd imagined and planned out, and everything could not have been more perfect.

I had to hold the tissue pom-poms while everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me to avoid setting the place on fire.

After changing who I was dressing up as fifty times (more like 62), the day before the party, I finally decided to dress up as a modern, real-life Elsa. It was simple but super fun to dress up like a Disney princess.. er, Queen, for a night.

My friends and I prepared everything the few days leading up to the party. Each area, except for the Photo Booth, represented a specific Disney movie:

Drinks - Frozen
Food - Toy Story
Desserts - Winnie the Pooh
Sitting Area - The Little Mermaid
Dinner Tables - Mickey Mouse, Disney Mashup.

Everything from colors to decorations matched the correlating theme. We blew up balloons to frame the area and made Pom-poms to hang above each table. For food, each attendee brought a "Disney-themed" dish. The only things we had to spend money on were balloons, streamers, table cloths, and tissue for the pom-poms. Ashley already had some random decorations, and I already had lights and everything Disney related.

Frozen themed Drink station.

Frozen was blue, purple, and white. We added fake snow and simple candles all over the table and used a clear vase for white, glitter branches to accent the table. We also had glass cube candle holders to represent ice. I found cute blue and purple polka dotted and striped straws from Target for $1 and had them in a mini Frozen bucket from the Party Store. We did clear cups with sharpies where everyone could draw their own Olaf and write their names.

We made Andy's wallpaper for the Toy Story table cloth.

For Toy Story, I did purple and light green balloons for Buzz, yellow and red pom-poms with little wooden cowboy boots and horse shoes hanging for Woody, and a light blue table cloth with tissue paper clouds Tim drew and cut out to represent the wallpaper in Andy's room. I placed my Woody, Bullseye, and Jesse dolls in a basket to set on the side, just in case people still weren't sure what the table was supposed to represent, and put the utensils in a mini Toy Story bucket.

Left: Dessert Table with the other tables in the back, Right: The Little Mermaid Sitting Area

For the Hundred Acre Wood gang, I did a soft yellow color theme for the pom-poms and table cloth. The balloons were dark and light pink, and orange and black for Piglet and Tigger. Ashley had tree trunk slices and golden glitter candle jars that we placed all over the table and a huge tree trunk cupcake display where we put the homemade pink, red and orange cupcakes my sister made.

In the Sitting Area, we hung streamers and pom-poms from the beams, taped teal balloons framing the fireplace, and threw blue streamers all over the mantel. I put my Sebastian and Max stuffed animals on the fireplace and a treasure chest Tim made out of pallet wood filled with bead necklaces on the table. For an extra "Under the Sea" touch, I added a blue table cloth on the coffee table and spread out sea shells and luaus all over it.

String lights, VHS's for center pieces, my Disney books & stuffed animals, and a Disney castle decorated the rest of the room.. everything was just perfect!
For the dinner table, I did a classic Mickey Mouse theme for the colors of the table cloths, pom-poms and balloons. We sat my Disney VHS's with tea light candles along the center of tables. We attached the red, black, and silver balloons to little metal buckets with Disney Princesses, Mickey Mouse, and Monsters Inc. on them and filled each bucketwith Disney gummies.
Bert, Mary Poppins, & Elsa.

Tim, being the talented man that he is, made the photo booth, which you can see in the vlog, out of bed sheets and PVC Piping. We lined the top with string lights and hung streamers and balloons at the entrance.

The rest of the room was covered with string lights and all of my Disney stuffed animals, books, and board games. At the back of the room, we had a huge balloon Disney castle. The last party that was held at the location left it there a few months back, and it could not have been more perfect for my Disney party! It added so much, and we didn't even have to pay for it.

To see everything in all it's glory, make sure to check out my vlog!

Pacha & Chicha.
Tim, thank you for wanting to throw me a Disney-themed birthday party and all of your help from beginning to end. Hannah J., thank you for allowing us to use your property, taking photos, and for really getting the ball rolling for everything!

Bethany, thank you for your help and mad photography skills for the photo booth. Ashley, thank you for spending four hours making pom-poms with me, finding my Elsa dress, bringing so many decorations, and all of your help setting up.

Hannah L., thank you for making the most delicious homemade birthday cupcakes ever. Hannah Q., of Honey + Jam, thank you for taking photos, keeping the score for the game, and picking up birthday candles because I totally forgot those would be needed. Levi, you and Tim are master string light decorators. It was beautiful. Thank you.

And just to every person there, thank you for coming, dressing up, bringing food, and your help setting up and taking it all down afterwards. There is no way this would have turned out so amazing without any of you people. I am thankful I have so many amazing friends in my life.

Mr. Fredricksen & Elsa.

So yeah, I'm twenty-one now.. That's new.

The House That Built Me.

A  good picture really is worth a thousand words.
We hadn't been to our old house in four years. I know that doesn't seem like a long time, but a lot has changed since 2011. The last time we were there, I was graduating high school. Since then, the house has been foreclosed on, my parents have divorced, I started college, my Dad moved to Colorado, my Mom opened her own store, and my sister's high school graduation is just two weeks away.

Last week, I had the honor of taking her Senior photos. Honestly, I was stressing about the task. I wanted her photos to be the best I had ever taken. I mean, she is my sister and best friend. I wanted to take photos that truly captured her genuine, sweet, happy, and just plain beautiful heart.

Happy girl.
On top of that, I wanted to be able to find a location that would contain meaning and really add something special to the photos. I do that for every person I photograph, but for Hannah, it was on a whole new level.

Even though we moved a decent amount growing up, we always stayed in the same area. We grew up around a golf course, so I thought we could take some photos in that area. We started there. After taking some super cute "traditional" shots, I told Hannah we should drive to our old house and take a few shots around the property.

Blue-Eyed.

When we arrived, the front door was wide open.

We were able to do nearly all of her Senior photos in the place she spent most of her young life.

This was the house she lived in from kindergarten through eighth grade. The house we lived in for eight years. That was the longest we had been anywhere. So much happened at this place. Things that would change us and grow us to be who we are today. To have the opportunity to take these photos of her at a time where everything is completely changing in her life was everything I could have hoped for and more. It gave her a chance to say "goodbye" all why I documented it.

(I might have snuck in a quick photo for myself while I was at it.)

Me in my old room.

Did we trespass? Possibly. Was it worth it? You have no idea.

See more of Hannah's Senior Photos here.
**More photos coming soon.

It's A... {My First Gender Reveal Shoot}

This past week, I was able to photograph my very first Gender Reveal Shoot, and it was wonderful! Haley and Anthony were so fun to work with, and I am ridiculously excited they allowed me to be a part of this memorable day. I thought that I would share some of my favorite shots with you peoples. To see these and more, check out my Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/128719147@N07/albums

I love love love how they announced the gender of their first baby! The parents found out Wednesday morning, then ran to the store straight after to get the appropriate colored silly string. Seeing their families' responses with pink silly string flying all around was too precious.

I don't know why, but this shot cracks me up. I think it is how the silly string can is so delicately placed.. I don't know, but it does look nice.

The parents have their own garden in the back yard, and after spraying the silly string, a few strands landed on their Kale. I thought it would be nifty to capture this part of their lives blending with the newest addition of a little girl.

The parents own (I forgot how many) cats, and this one in the photograph is their newest member. As I was taking photos of the framed ultrasound, he came over and kept getting in my shots. I decided to just include him. It makes me happy because their cat is the baby of the family now, but won't be for long. This is like their family's version of the "sibling" photo.
The love between this grandfather and grandson was precious.  I was able to capture so many beautiful moments that day, and this one is definitely one of my favorites.

I am not entirely sure how she got that much silly string on her head. I am sure her brother played a part in that.

I am fond of this shot, too. The first moment the soon-to-be Grandmothers came together to celebrate their first granddaughter.

Haley's nephew fell and hurt his leg in all the commotion and didn't get to spray the silly string. After the initial excitement, they let him spray just the two of them to celebrate.

Note to Future Tiffany: When looking at ultrasound photos of the parents-who-hired-you-as-a-photographer's future child, don't yell out loud, "Oh! She looks the guy from the painting, The Scream! :D" no matter how awesome and true it may be. Awkward silence may follow.

Congratulations, Haley and Anthony. Thank you for letting me be a part of this special day.

Consensual Chivalry.

March 7th was International Women's Day.

I didn't feel terribly inspired on the day, and to be quite honest, I didn't think too much about it... well, not enough to create my own rant on the matter.

However, over the past few days, articles on feminism and equality have been surfacing on my Facebook newsfeed, and they have all taken a different approach than I am accustomed to seeing.

No one is barking at their male audience or putting them down. No one is aimlessly screaming, "WE NEED EQUALITY!" The articles of late have been simple, honest, and respectful.

One discussion in particular stood out to me, inspiring this short post.

The awe-inspiring, UN Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson spoke at a live Facebook Q&A session on gender inequality Sunday. While answering a question on dating a feminist she said something I found to be beautiful.

"I think the key is that chivalry should be consensual... We’re never, ever, ever going to be able to fly as high unless we’re both in support of each other."

Consensual chivalry.

I have never heard the solution of gender inequality described so precisely and perfectly. This is how we should all live our lives. Male to female, female to male, male to male, female to female, there should be a sense of consensual chivalry.

This aligns exactly with how God feels on the issue.

John 13:34  "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

I believe that most of the world's problems could be solved by this one verse. If we would just love one another the way that Jesus loved and continues to love us, there would not be this much evil in the world. We would not even have to be discussing females being considered equal to males.

But what does it look like to love one another? What is love?

I Corinthians 13 is one of the most overused chapters of the Bible. Until recently, I also found it to be one of the most annoying, but then I actually read it. And not bitterly, but with an open heart. Verses 4 through 8 tells us exactly what love is:

"
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongsLove does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truthIt always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveresLove never fails..."

I am aware that I sound like a hippie right now, but what is wrong with that? Regardless of how you feel about God or Christianity or the Bible, do any of these things sound like a bad thing to you? The world needs more love.
Less envy, pride, anger, selfishness, delighting in evil, and bringing others down. More patience, kindness, trust, perseverance, rejoicing in truth, and lifting others up

Heck, to quote the Beatles, "All you need is love..." Love for all races, all genders, all people.

February 2015 Favorites // Beauty, Youtubers, and More!

Let's just jump right into all of my beauty, fashion, people and random favorites for the month of February.

NYR Organics White Tea Enriching Facial Mask // This is the best facial mask ever. After using it, my face feels soft and refreshed. If I am having a bad breakout, this just calms everything down. I feel like when I use this, I am pressing the restart button on my face for fresh, beautiful skin. My favorite thing about Neil Yard Remedies Organics products is I know exactly what I am putting onto my skin and into my body. This fact shines through the most in their White Tea Facial Mask.

First Aid Beauty Red Clay Cleansing Mask // I use this stuff once a day and have noticed a huge difference with my acne prone skin. It leaves my skin feeling clean, but not terribly dried out. All it takes is a pea-sized amount each time which definitely makes it worth the $24.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie// I use to be obsessed with Revlon Lip Butters whenever I first started to get into makeup, but forgot about them until a few weeks ago. I grabbed it on my way to check out at Walmart, and the color is the perfect enhanced, natural lip for me. It glides on like a lip balm but can be built up to have the color of a lipstick. I have to re-apply it throughout the day, but since it isn't an intense red lip that needs to be applied perfectly, I don't mind.

White // I don't really know what all I can say about it... just the color white. I've never been crazy about it in the past, but now I'm a little obsessed. I have no idea where the obsession started. I just feel like it is so chic and classy and the complete opposite of me, but I'm still all about it at the moment.

Nine West Purse // While we are talking about the color white, might as well discuss my new bag from Nine West. I had fallen in love with a bag at Coach and a bag at Fossil, both like $600. I just could not spend that much on a purse. When I saw this bad boy, he was nothing that I thought I wanted, but turned out to be everything I needed. And the best part: it was just $30! This was my first "big" purchase of 2015, and I am proud of it.

february favorites, 2015, beauty, blogger, christian, nine west, handbag, purse, white, white purse, silver, coach, michael kors, dupe

Neck Pillow // I have some neck/head issues, and my little $10 neck pillow has helped more than anything else I have tried. I had tried a beanie bag neck pillow previously, and it just didn't work for me. This one is memory foam, and I can kind of twist how I need to make it provide the best support for my neck. Plus, it's teal which is one of my favorite colors.

Yogi Vanilla Spice Tea // Eeek. Okay. My favorite tea this month tastes similar but better than Trader Joe's Seasonal Vanilla & Cinnamon Black Tea, and I could not be more excited about it. Any other Vanilla Spice tea I have had just wasn't the same, but this stuff is perfect and available year round. Every bag even has a little inspirational quote on the tabs. You can't beat that.

february favorites, 2015, beauty, blogger, christian, yogi, yogi tea, tea, monet, mug, quotes, inspirational, winter, snow, pretty, vanilla spice

Saltine Crackers // I know this is weird, but I've been sick a lot the past month. Nothing is better than some good ole' fashion Saltines. Granted they aren't that filling, but that with some simple soup and Ginger Ale sure do help with sickness.

Sam and Nia on YouTube // You may recognize this adorable family from their video that went viral last year: Good Looking Parents Sing Disney's Frozen. Ever since they posted the video, and I first watched it, I subscribed. I usually don't automatically subscribe to people with viral videos, but I really hoped they would use the opportunity to start vlogging so we could get to know them. Thankfully, they did, and I have loved them ever since.

They are a sweet, down-to-earth Christian family of four: Sam, Nia, Symphony and Abram. It is encouraging to see a Christian family succeed in the world of Youtube and honestly use the platform to bring honor to God. They don't pretend that they are perfect or better than anyone else. They are loving, down-to-earth, and caring. In their first year of vlogging, they seem to have stayed true to themselves and the Lord. They have become role models in not only my life, but my younger sister's. Thank you, Sam and Nia. We love you guys! <3

SacconeJoly's on YouTube // I discovered this precious Irish family this past month and just LOVE them. They post a new vlog every single day at 6PM UK time, and I always look forward to it! They are a family of eleven: Jonathan and Anna - the parents, Emilia and Eduardo - the cutest kiddies, and Albi, Sina, Theo, Bianca, Nivea, Nuvola, and Cleo - their seven dogs. Jonathan is super upbeat and funny, and Anna is super fashionable but still really down-to-earth. They don't fake anything. They are real with their viewers, and even though I know sharing this much with the world is overwhelming and intense, I appreciate them for staying with it for such a long time and welcoming us all as their "friendliest friends." <3

7 Easy Tips for Spring Cleaning and Decluttering Your Space!

7 easy tips for spring cleaning and decluttering your space, spring, cleaning, clean, cleanliness, organize, messy, closet, diy, tips, college, declutter, easy, spring, fashion, beauty, blogger,

I guess it could be the time of year, but I am going Spring Cleaning Crazy. I want everything to be clean and organized. I want things rearranged. I want things I no longer use or need to be gone. I'm sick of clutter. The past few days, I have been cleaning up a storm and discovered there were a few things I could develop into tips and share with y'all to hopefully help you in your decluttering process.

1. Have one folder for notes and cards.

Do you really need all twenty-eight notes from your middle school boyfriend? Or a generic birthday card from a family member that you have ten others from? (You don't.) Just keep the things that truly mean something to you, and you know, without a doubt, you would regret throwing away.

2. Get a little box for random keepsakes.

Same rule applies with your keepsakes. Containing your random keepsakes in a small box you can set on a shelf, limits you and makes you think about what is honestly worth keeping.

3. Haven't worn it in a year? Don't need it!

There are plenty of people out there who would be happy to wear that shirt you got just because it was on sale and have not worn more than once since or your Field Day t-shirt from 2008. Even in my small town, we have multiple thrift stores that are always accepting donations. Or if you know a family or someone in need, gather the items and send them their way.

4. Basically brand new? Sell it!

The internet is a fantastic platform for making some extra money on anything you have that might as well be brand new. Most cities have some sort of Online Yard Sale Group on Facebook. Join one nearby to you and start listing. Let me know in the comments if you want my tips and tricks for selling stuff on these sites!

There are also apps now available for smart phones that make selling your items even easier! I just downloaded the app Poshmark to start selling my nicer items. I'll let you know how it goes.

5. Ripped, broken, torn? Toss it!

I am the world's worst about keeping things after they are broken or torn because I think I can hot glue or sew it back together. Though this may be the case with some things, most of the time, I never actually get around to doing it, and when I do, it doesn't really work out. I am not talking about a little tear that no one notices; this point is about the stuff that is just down right shattered. There comes a time when the best thing to do is throw the stuff in the garbage.

6. Waaay too many t-shirts? Make a quilt!

I haven't actually done this one yet, but I am in the early stages. Even with this, I am only including the t-shirts that do you have strong sentimental value... not every free t-shirt or every school t-shirt ever. Just choose the shirts that bring back good memories. Give away the others.

7. Re-arrange a little!

Sometimes, all you need to do to declutter an area is re-arrange it. Whether that be a drawer, a shelf, or an entire room, go for it! Just switching things up can be the most refreshing thing. Remember. Change is a good thing.

This has all helped me so much over the last week. I hope the tips do the same for you! What cleaning tips do you have for me? Good luck on your Spring Cleaning! <3
